The Big Ideas Single
A Life Well Wasted has always been music-centric, but this is the show’s first venture into purely musical territory. I asked listeners to submit recordings of their videogame ideas–then proceeded to chop them up into an epic exploration of the gaming brain. This is the first of what will hopefully be a series of short musical stories made to fit into your regular music shuffle. It’s the product of about 50 hours of work, and it’s yours for the low, low price of free.

Nice episode. I believe in the quality of this show so much, that I promoted the hell out of it as soon as I knew it was out, and then I listend to it! Ha! Good thing the site that i promoted it on first is full of open minds and alternative lifestyes. I yanked it down from my facebook page as I may one day need a new job, but I still love your stuff. keep it coming, and one day I hope to play a full “life well wasted” album. You’d be a headliner for chiptune and nerdcore bands and they’d all wonder how you got so sweet and you’d snort coke off of the tits of gamer bunnies with Jonah Falcon.

Love how you manage to get the lines of dialogue to rhyme with each other, Robert. There’s something undeniably fonkeh about it… Keep the great work, I’m hooked!

I’ve spent countless hours looking for podcasts that can hold my attention–To no avail, but you hold. Your production values are insanely high both for being self-produced and in comparison to most of what has sifted through my ears and osmosed into my brain.

A shit, that’s my friend George at 0:30 and 1:20. Awesome!
Once again you’ve out done yourself Robert. Great job.

The opening games ideas ‘song’ was amazing – I’m not surprised you spent so long on it. I, for one, really loved the interspersed music. It makes ALWW something you experience rather than just something that’s listened to for the content. Maybe other episodes have done an even better job at that overall but I wanted to make that general comment here.
You’ve asked for ideas for show in the past. Well one of the threads of ALWW so far seems to be the human stories and I’ve been thinking for a while that interviews with people from the modding scene, particularly those behind some of the huge and ambitious ones would make for interesting material. There’s almost certainly stories of drama and obsession behind many of those.
