I like the kid sitting on the floor. I always sat on the floor in front of the TV because the couch was just too far away. I thought it improved my response time & helped with the immersion.

So many nights I wandered weak and weary my muscles sore and eyes bleary, to learn and reach for something more.
This time taught me more than I learned in school, I refuse to regret it.

really dig that. would definitely put that on my wall. The shadows are really rad looking and the heavy electric glow from the television really pulls your eyes to the center. I love the gritty border and how it can be interpreted as putting the world around you on hold. I can remember countless friday and saturday nights as a kid sneaking down to the living room to put some play time in on teenage mutant ninja turtles or super mario brothers 3.

Definitely would buy a shirt of this.

This is one of the few silhouette-style drawings I've seen that really captures what it felt like to game: up late at night, on the floor, in front of the tube.

Most times we see symbols of the tri-force, a controller, a joystick or a mushroom to depict the gaming culture. Defining the player visually is what grabs me here. Very cool.

I am in love with that second controller. It's sitting on the left. Is the guy in the picture in the 2nd player spot and waiting for his friend? Perhaps his friend was playing with him and left for the night. Did he start the game in two player mode only to use the 2nd controller when player one ran out of lives?

I don't see sadness here Cobra, but happiness. He looks so content, sitting by the glow of the cathode ray tube.

That all being said, I have to admit that those were secondary and tertiary thoughts. My first thought was "Oooh, this will make a cool desktop background!"
